When we travel, we try to take the time to use our five senses. The sights, sounds, smells, etc. of a new or familiar place can create many discoveries.

At a cafe or restaurant, strike up a conversation with the server. Ask them for recommendations for things to do or see.

If you are staying in a hotel, speak to the person behind the desk or the concierge. They always have a wealth of information.

If you’re renting a vacation property, reach out to the host beforehand and ask for suggestions. These strategies have netted us great ideas for what to do and what not to do. This has also allowed us ton discover some hidden gems. After all, who knows the area better than the people who live there?
