A Safari is one of the top things to do in South Africa

We had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the beautiful country of South Africa with Go Touch Down Tours. There is a reason that going on a safari is one of the top things to do in South Africa. Our first safari adventure included early morning and late afternoon game drives through the beautiful Songimvelo Game Reserve.

Every time we left Humala River Lodge nestled deep within the reserve, we were treated to gifts from Mother Nature. We ventured across open areas in view of the Green Stone Mountains dating back well over 3 billion years.

Bouncing along worn tracks in our safari vehicle, stopping, turning off the engine and sitting quietly, we watched a dazzle of zebras grazing in a nearby field. Graceful towering giraffes looked at us with curiosity while they nibbled on leaves from nearby trees.

We witnessed breathtaking sunsets during early evening game drives as we were treated to a chorus of night sounds.

After we left the reserve, we headed to the city of Cape Town and the surrounding area. Here, we discovered world-class wines, friendly people, a vibrant food scene, and breathtaking landscapes.
