New Brunswick, one of Canada’s three Maritime provinces, offers many activities and sights for travellers. It is the largest of the three Maritime provinces and shares a border with Quebec and Nova Scotia and an international border with the State of Maine.

New Brunswick is the only Canadian province that is officially bilingual (English & French). About 33 percent of the population is French-speaking. 

The capital city is Fredericton, located along the St. John River in the south-central part of the province. The cities of Moncton and Saint John (not to be confused with St. John’s, Newfoundland) are, in fact larger than the capital city. 

There are more than 55 remaining covered bridges. The longest covered bridge in the world is in Hartland, New Brunswick. It is 390 m. (1,282 ft) long.

New Brunswick’s Bay of Fundy has the highest tides on earth. 

This province has more than 60 lighthouses. 

The Appalachian Range, which runs through the province, is one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth. 

Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, in the famous Bay of Fundy, is one of the top birding spots in North America.

Grand Manon Island is also the Dulse Capital of the World. Dulse is an edible seaweed. It is called the superfood of the sea because it contains a large amount of potassium, fiber, and protein. This sea vegetable also provides a healthy dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

They are on Atlantic Time. That means if you are from Ontario, Quebec, or Maine, you need to set your watch an hour ahead.
